Traveling by car can be a wonderful experience, but sometimes you may encounter an unforeseen vehicle breakdown. Because we want your car rental experience to be as hassle-free as possible, we have written some helpful tips on what to do in case of a vehicle breakdown on the road.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Remain calm and stop the vehicle safely<\/h4>\n

The first step when you notice a problem with your vehicle is to stay calm. Turn on your hazard lights and slowly reduce your speed. If possible, pull over to a safe place on the side of the road or to the nearest pull-over lane. It is important to stay out of the flow of traffic so as not to endanger yourself or other road users.<\/p>\n

Place the safety triangle<\/h4>\n

After you have stopped the vehicle safely, place the safety triangle behind the car to warn other drivers of the vehicle breakdown. The triangle should be placed at least 50 meters behind the vehicle on a normal road and 100 meters on a highway. Also wear a reflective vest if you have one to increase your visibility.<\/p>\n

Check the problem<\/h4>\n

If you feel safe and familiar with the basics of car mechanics, you can try to figure out what is wrong with the vehicle. Check basic things like fuel level, tires, coolant and oil. However, be careful and do not undertake more complex repairs if you are not confident in your abilities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

When help arrives, follow the instructions of a professional. It may be that your vehicle needs to be towed to the nearest workshop or that the problem can be fixed on the spot.
