There are different insurance options available when renting a vehicle:
• Basic Insurance
- Includes LDW (Loss Damage Waiver – limited liability for damage to the vehicle)
- Includes TP (Theft Protection – insurance against vehicle theft)
- Does not cover bodywork, tires, or glass
• Standard Insurance
- Includes all benefits of basic insurance
- Additionally includes Super Top LDW (coverage for bodywork damage)
- Also includes Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
• Premium Insurance
- Highest level of coverage with no deductible
- Includes coverage for bodywork, tires, and glass
- Includes Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
All Free2Rent vehicles are registered and insured. If any issue arises, immediately contact Free2Rent so we can check the vehicle’s status and resolve the situation.
No, the reservation applies to a vehicle category, but we will do our best to provide the desired model.
✔️ Currently, it is not possible to directly modify a reservation. If you want a different date or vehicle, you must cancel the existing reservation and create a new one.
Yes, foreign citizens must provide an international driving permit (if their license is issued outside the EU) and a valid passport or ID card.
The reservation is held for up to 59 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. If you anticipate a delay, please notify us to avoid automatic cancellation.
Yes, for long-term rentals (over 30 days), individual conditions can be arranged.
Yes child seats, GPS, snow chains, and other additional services are available.
✔️ If you selected the pay-on-collection option when booking, you can cancel the reservation yourself via the online configurator.
✔️ If you paid with a credit card, cancellation via the online configurator is not possible. In this case, please email us at 📧 info@free2rent.si with your reservation number and details, and we will handle the cancellation and refund.
✔️ Cancellations are completely free up to 48 hours before pickup and do not incur any additional costs.
Yes, but the additional driver must be registered in the contract. The fee for an additional driver is 6€ per day, with a maximum charge of 60€ per rental.
All repair costs are covered by the renter. Insurance does not apply in this case.
The pickup process takes 10–15 minutes if you have all the required documents ready.
No, a valid credit card (Mastercard or Visa) is required for booking and vehicle pickup. Cash payments and prepaid cards are not accepted as a rental guarantee.
Yes, but for an additional fee of 30.50€ and with prior arrangement.
LDW reduces your liability in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle up to a certain amount, depending on the type of vehicle. If LDW is not included, the renter is responsible for the full value of the vehicle.
No, insurance does not cover the loss or theft of personal items left in the vehicle. We recommend not leaving valuables in plain sight and always taking them with you.
In case of an accident, damage, or theft of the vehicle, you must immediately:
- Call Free2Rent and follow their instructions.
- Notify the police and obtain an official police report.
- Fill out the damage report form and submit it to Free2Rent as soon as possible.
- In the case of theft, you must also provide Free2Rent with the key and documents of the vehicle.
No, the vehicles are not intended for commercial use (e.g., taxi services, deliveries).
If you have been legally fined at least three times in the last two years for serious traffic violations (e.g., speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol), you will not be able to rent a vehicle. If this information is concealed and the vehicle is seized, you will be responsible for all resulting damages.
The deductible excess is the maximum amount you must pay in the event of damage before the insurance covers the costs. If you have the Premium package, there is no deductible excess.
Damage to the interior (such as burned seats, spilled liquids, or mechanical damage due to improper use) is not covered by any insurance package. The renter is fully responsible for the cleaning or repair costs.
If a warning light turns on or you notice a mechanical issue, immediately contact Free2Rent and follow their instructions.
Missing fuel is charged at 3€ per liter, plus a service fee.
Super LDW is an additional option that completely eliminates financial responsibility in case of damage, except in cases of improper use of the vehicle.

- If the breakdown is due to improper use of the vehicle, the renter will cover the repair costs.
Payment is only possible with credit cards. We accept Mastercard and Visa. Cash payments are not accepted.

Yes, but border crossing is only allowed in certain countries and requires an additional fee of 11€ per day (maximum 110€ per rental).
The renter is responsible for all fines. Free2Rent charges an administrative fee of 30€ + VAT.

- Basic and standard insurance do not cover damage to tires, glass, and the undercarriage.
- Premium insurance includes coverage for tires and glass, but does not cover undercarriage damage.
Yes, but you must inform us in advance. If the vehicle is not available, the extension is not possible.
Yes, you can purchase the Tires and Glass package, which covers:
- Damage to tires, rims, and wheel covers
- Damage to windows, lights, and mirrors
- If the responsible party is known, obtain their details and the police report.
- If the responsible party is unknown (e.g., hit-and-run in a parking lot), the damage is the renter’s responsibility, unless they have Super LDW or Premium package, which cover such cases.
The deposit is released within a few days after the return, depending on the policy of the card-issuing bank.
If you notice any issues while driving, immediately notify Free2Rent. If the problem is due to a mechanical failure, assistance will be arranged. However if the breakdown is caused by improper use of the vehicle, the renter will cover the repair costs.
The renter must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years and provide a physical credit card (Mastercard or Visa) for the deposit.
The deposit amount depends on the type of vehicle and the selected insurance package, ranging from 300€ to 1,500€.
You can make a reservation through the online configurator, via email, or by phone.
The policy is full-to-full – you receive the vehicle with a full tank and must return it full.
Yes, pickup or return outside business hours is possible for an additional fee of 30.50€.
Entry is prohibited in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kosovo, Albania, and Turkey
If you have LDW, Super LDW, or Premium insurance roadside assistance and vehicle towing organization are included. However if the breakdown is caused by improper use of the vehicle (e.g., incorrect fuel, damage due to ignoring warning lights) the renter is responsible for the towing costs.
No, driving off paved roads is prohibited and may result in insurance coverage being denied.
Yes, all vehicles have a Slovenian vignette.
Insurance does not apply in the following cases:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances
- Driving by unauthorized persons (persons not listed in the contract)
- Driving in prohibited countries
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities (racing, towing other vehicles, etc.)
- Incorrectly refueled vehicle
If you are responsible for the accident:
- Ensure the safety of all participants and call emergency services if necessary.
- Notify Free2Rent and follow their instructions.
- Obtain a police report, as you will need it for the claims process.
- If you have Super LDW or Premium insurance, your liability is €0, except in cases of improper use of the vehicle.
Notify Free2Rent. The cost for a replacement key will be charged at the price of the official vehicle dealer.
Yes, if the fine is not paid, the amount can be charged directly to your credit card.
No, only the person listed in the contract can pick up the vehicle.
No, despite the highest coverage, the Premium package does not cover:
- Damage to the interior of the vehicle
- Incorrectly refueled vehicle
- Mechanical damage due to improper use of the vehicle (e.g., engine overload)
If the battery drains due to the renter’s mistake (e.g., leaving the lights or radio on) the renter is responsible for the intervention costs. However if it’s due to a mechanical failure Free2Rent will cover the cost.
Yes, free delivery is available within 15 km of the office. For longer distances, an additional fee applies.
